The south elementary doors by the playground and weight room are broken. Please obey the sign and refrain from trying to use them or key fob in. We are hoping to fix this in the very near future!
Another great Elementary Family Game Day after school today! Thank you to all who attended and a big thanks to the ND State Library for the funding to purchase the games!
Parents and families:
Please make sure that your child/ren has winter gear for recess. ALL Prek-6 students go outside for recess and need boots, snow pants, coats, hats, gloves/ mittens. The school has minimal extra supplies to share at this time. If you need any winter clothing, please call the school and we will assist. Bus riders also need to have these each day!

Today, Underwood High School started competing in the Comet House Cup sponsored by the Pep Club. The students were sorted into five houses: House Rispetto (Respect), House Valor (Courage), House Fidelitas (Loyalty), House Integridad (Integrity), and House Amicus (Kindness). The students then competed in our first competition to use teamwork to cross the gym because the floor was lava! The house that tallies the most points by the end of the year will win a prize!! Ask the 7-12 students about it!
Elementary Parents - Just a heads up that tomorrow we are hosting a GBB and BBB doubleheader starting at 3:00 PM. The school will be a little busier than usual and the parking lots might be congested. Parents can still pick up their children on the south side of the school.
Family Elementary Game Time is this Wednesday! Students attending need to have an older student (7th gr. and up) or parent with them! Also PLEASE let teachers know if your child will be attending in order to minimize confusion.
With how cold last week was, it worked out great for PreK4 and Kindergarten to get a little extra movement in Library with Cosmic Kids Yoga!

Love is in the air!!! Mrs. LeRoy's class is hoping to get letters and special items from all 50 states by Valentine's Day!
Science labs this week included extracting DNA from strawberries, redox reactions with copper nitrate, metals reacting with hydrochloric acid, dissection of a sheep eye, and the start of the candy DNA lab. Science fun!
Another schedule update - Mandaree does not have enough players tomorrow to play either JV game. As a result, it will only be two varsity games. Varsity GBB will be at 2:00 and Varsity BBB will follow (approximately 3:30).

UHS 7-12 students took part in their first career exploration cluster today. Today was an art cluster. They will have one cluster a month to help with career exploration. Thanks to the individuals and business who spoke with our students today!
The 2nd day of Artist in Residency focused on grades K-5. The artist in residency for Elementary is also Myra Klein who was able to come to the school on behalf of the ND Arts Council and the Washburn American Legion. She will come once a month from January to April. Save the Date for the artist showcase on April 12 at 5:30!
