Hello Underwood School families. As we approach the new school year I wanted to bring you up to speed on a new North Dakota law that is prohibiting the use of personal electronic devices by students while at school. With the assistance of legal counsel, Underwood Public School has adopted a new policy to support its implementation. The new policy is included in the updated Student/Parent Handbook that will be distributed on registration days. I have also included a link below to the new policy on our school website.

https://core-docs.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/1199/Underwood_School_District_8/5922449/FFI-_Electronic_Devices.pdf.

While we encourage students to leave their electronic devices at home, we realize this may not be possible. Upon entering the building, students will be able to place their electronic devices in a filing cabinet folder with their name at either the elementary office or high school office. The filing cabinet will be locked during the school day. Upon exiting the school, students will be able to pick up their electronic devices.

We realize this is a big change and will work through the details when the school year begins. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Sincerely,
Todd Benson, Superintendent

Adventure Academy's final week was a Carnival! We worked on problem solving, budget a trip to the carnival, built roller coasters and Ferris wheels. We ended the week with our own carnival games and a trip to Soda's and Things for ice cream!

Adventure Academy had a great "Treasure/Pirate" week. We worked on coin recognition, making change, coding, and reading fluency and comprehension. We made Treasure rocks and ended the week with a scavenger hunt at Heger's farm.
