The school year has come to an end! We have had a day filled with celebration! Thank you to everyone for sharing your children with us and helping when asked! Today ended with a Color Run and play day to celebrate a year of hard work and adventure! Have a fantastic Summer!
Underwood Elementary Celebrated this year's accomplishments. They have grown as readers, writers, mathematicians, thinkers, and classmates. We’re so proud of everything they’ve accomplished. The 4th grade won a reading bet with Mrs. Rush and she had to dye her hair purple! We had a Citizenship Award winner (Timothy), three Great Attendance Award winners (Hadley, Evelyn, Timothey), and ONE PERFECT Attendance Winner (Emmelin). Two 6th graders also earned the President's Education Awards: Timothy for Excellence and Eve for Achievement-Way to Go!
Lots of fun was had. Have a great summer and hope to see a lot of students at our Adventure Academy!

The US History students have been researching and persuading others periodically over the last 2 months to determine which event was most influential during the Cold War. And the winner is . . . The Election of Mikhail Gorbachev! Congrats Gavin, Kira, Nicki, and Dannie! While the others joined his team to help after their own events were defeated, Gavin has been campaigning for this event from the start of the bracket. All of the US History students were invested in the bracket this year, but extra congrats to these four! Good job to everyone!

The regional softball tournament has officially been postponed to start on Thursday. The format is still being decided, but we now know the start day will not be tomorrow. As we get more information, we will pass it on to you!

Our fresh fruit and vegetable program has come to an end this school year. The students in Elementary were able to try close to 60 different fruits and vegetables during school thanks to the NDDPI Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program Grant. Thank you to our partners Krause's Market, Olafson Farms, McLean County NDSU Extension Office and ND Department of Public Instruction. A HUGE thanks to our community volunteers who assisted our Full Service School Site Coordinator preparing our veggies and fruit so our students could enjoy!

The Region Softball Tournament has been postponed to Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday due field conditions from the rain.
The Elementary Color Run/ Play Day scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, has been postponed due to weather. It has been rescheduled for Thursday at 11:50! Students will be dismissed from the playground at 1:00.
PreK had a special guest reader today! Thank you Mr. Benson for reading with the littles ! They were amazed by the actual size of things in the book! That is one big moth!

100 Point Accelerated Reader field trip to the Minot YMCA and Culver's today! Otto, Avery, Kaylee, Macy, Evelyn, Levi, and Timothy had a blast trying new things, braving their fears, and jumping in! They also were complimented by the YMCA staff on their behavior - way to display the Underwood Way!
